    Purpose

  • An entry level role for a recent graduate in their early career who would like to expand their skills and grow their career as part of a team with a vast range of experience.
  • An Assoc. Mechanical Design Engineer is sought to contribute to the design and development of mass spectrometry system components. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in mechanical engineering, hands-on experience with solid model CAD software, and a passion for innovation.Responsibilities
  • Assist in the design and development of mechanical systems, and components.
  • Under the direction of a senior engineer, creates 3D models, drawings, and tolerance analysis.
  • Investigate design issues and contribute to a solution and its implementation.
  • Support the documentation and maintenance of engineering designs, specifications, and test procedures.
  • Prepare bills-of-materials with the company's integrated part management system.
  • Perform product sustaining activities through collaboration with multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Testing and troubleshooting of mechanical systems and generating reports
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas for new product development. Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Experience using SolidWorks for parametric designs in 3D solids modeling and 2D drawings.
  • Experience in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and heat transfer simulations is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability of designing complex parts.
  • Ability to work based on 2D drawings and understand key dimensions.
  • Ability to generate 2D drawings based on GD&T standards.
  • Ability to use standard documentation tools to create/communicate design, specifications, and test results (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio). Preferred Characteristics
