The Asset Investment Analyst is responsible for leading the development, management, and continuous improvement of processes and systems that are cross-functional.

The incumbent will manage the receiving inspection program which represents approx. $20M worth of major equipment e.g.

distribution transformers, switchgears, and switches inspected each year at THESL's warehouses and warehouses under contract with Toronto Hydro in collaboration with cross-departmental stakeholders.


The incumbent is expected to behave ethically, work safely, and follow the established code of business conduct, policies, and internal control procedures, laws, and regulations governing Toronto Hydro.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Support in managing the compliance portfolio associated with the preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance programs, capital work programs associated with system assets, innovation programs, distribution asset record management systems, standards, policies, and materials.
  • Responsible for monitoring, inspecting and proposing measures to correct or improve THESL's major assets to meet or exceed established quality standards.
  • Assists in the execution of the Material Reuse program and ensures that all reused major assets are inspected and meet quality standards before going back to inventory.
  • Demonstrates exceptional communication skills and tact in resolving complex issues that arise up, down, and across the organization
  • Build strong relationships with crossfunctional teams, Warehouse, Procurement, and Vendors to ensure issues that arise from receiving inspections are dealt with promptly
  • Manage, maintain, and revise the requirements of the Receiving Inspection process and procedure
  • Actively supports the Manager in preparation of the monthly status report by measuring, monitoring, and updating relevant KPIs
  • Compares alternatives based on cost/benefit considerations, customer needs, safety, statistical analysis, and engineering principles, and recommends the optimum solution.
  • Provides timely support and consultation, demonstrates effective project management and process efficiencies; reviews develop, and/or presents business proposals, plans, designs, processes, operational procedures, and practices.
  • Lead the development of systemlevel requirements by working effectively with other engineering and crossfunctional disciplines.
  • Stay current with industry best practices in business, process methodologies, and technologies and recommend solutions to positively impact business results

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred)
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of professional experience in Quality Assurance, Process Optimization, Root Cause Analysis methodologies, identification of areas for improvement, and development of new initiatives.
  • Indepth knowledge of the theories, principles, and practices of continuous improvement methodologies (LEAN)
  • Project management designation is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of electricity distribution engineering, construction, safety rules, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of and experience with distribution products and equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of business case development, business process reengineering techniques, and process optimization.
  • Fully proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including MS Excel, Access, Visio, and other Project Management tools.
  • Awareness of project management processes, principles, and methodologies.
  • Ability to synthesize, evaluate and integrate information from multiple sources, and to provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work collaboratively on interdepartmental teams and across organizational boundaries.
  • Solid understanding of business issues and challenges, and demonstrates tact and diplomacy specifically in a customer engagement/stakeholder management environment.
  • Excellent analytical, technical, and business solution development skills, including the proven ability to function effectively in a dynamic environment within a multidisciplinary team setting.
  • Ability to develop dependable feedback systems and tracking.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, and reportwriting skills.
Toronto Hydro has introduced a Hybrid Work Arrangement. This position allows for remote work up to three days per week, based on business needs.

Employees will be required to come onsite on those days when they are involved in activities that they or their leader feel are better conducted in person.
