Description

Reporting to the controller, this summer internship will provide valuable, real-world experience to students pursuing a college diploma or university degree with an interest in supporting our Accounting department.

This position will assist in carrying out the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions for Makloc & Makloc Construction. This position has the potential to transition to a part-time role during the school year.

Responsibilities (Included, but not limited to):

Assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
Filing and record management.
Review and monitor accounts receivable. Reconcile accounts receivable accounts when required.
Process accounts payable: check, verify and code invoices in STRUMIS.
Ensure all accounting records related to the corporation are kept up to date.
Assisting in answering switchboard calls, when required.
Preforming various other duties, as required.
Assist other departments as required

Qualifications & Competencies:

Familiarity with basic accounting procedures and principles.
Display a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal and organization skills.

Computer Skills

Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office programs; knowledge of Sage an asset

Hours of Operation are Monday through Friday, and are flexible (based on business needs)

At this time, only applicants residing in the local Edmonton Area (South Edmonton Preferred)/Leduc will be considered.

Salary:
$18.00-$20.00 per hour
