Job Description:

Branch Manager - Trans-Electro Canada

This position reports to the Business Center Manager.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Closely monitor all management reports and analyze the health of the business on a daily basis. Ensure identified performance indicators are evaluated and adjust activities accordingly. (40%)
  • Oversee the daytoday sales and operation logistics of the branch, such as meeting sales targets, establishing KPIs, maintaining proper inventory levels. (35%).
  • Ensure employees at the branch are supported and encouraged to grow their business and invest in themselves. (25%)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure all job functions are performed in accordance to the Corporate Standard Practice Instruction (SPI) Manual;
  • Establish and implement short, mid
- and long-term business plans which will determine the opportunities, goals and objectives of the Business Centre in terms of sales, customer service, cost control, asset management and profitability;

  • Develop long term profitable relationships with select key customers throughout the market:
  • Manage and maximize profitability through cultivation and development of the territory;
  • Identify and take advantage of unrealized opportunities for expansion in the Business Centre's region through existing and potential customers as well as products;
  • Identify, attract, develop, motivate and retain outstanding employees;
  • Communicate timely with Senior Management on market and businessrelated issues and opportunities;
  • Behave in an ethical and professional manner reflecting the values of the Company;
  • Engage and cultivate strong, longterm relationships with key suppliers;
  • Increase the Business Centre's profitability through systematic control of costs, expenses, and investments;
  • Maintain a firm understanding of and be able to favorably influence medium and large capital projects in the trading area;
  • Participate in and oversee the strict adherence to cyclical inventory counting;
  • Manage the Centre in accordance with our Standard Practice Instructions;
  • Coordinate and assist, where necessary, the various functions in office sales and administration
  • Work respectfully and diligently to grow existing business by promoting Trans Canada Electro products and consistently offering our expertise and service;
  • Deal with every customer complaint in an expedient manner and ensure they are satisfied with our resolve;
  • Ensure superior customer service is the objective during each customer interface throughout every level of the business;
  • Ensure sales team consistently prospect and develop new business through a strategic process of warm and cold calls;
  • Remain uptodate on various product lines by actively and aggressively pursuing formalized vendor training programs and informal product research;
  • Stay current in your profession and enroll in continuing education focused on sales strategies and account management principals, as well as product knowledge (including vendor training) and industry changes:
  • Ensure proper administration in the management of freight claims and reel returns;
  • Maintain a system of effective communication between operations and sales so that all parties are regularly updated with capacity challenges and service issues;
  • Provide backup support to the sales department when required;
  • Performs any other duties as required by management.

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Minimum five (5) years of industry experience preferable, or a combination of relevant experience and education
  • Understanding of general finance and budgeting, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cashflow management
  • Solid understanding of financial management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High level of critical thinking and problemsolving skills
  • Ability to address problems and opportunities for the company
  • Capability to organize his work with a minimum of supervision
  • Energetic and positive attitude, dependable, organized and deadline oriented
  • Stress tolerance
  • Advanced computer skills and knowledge
