Associate - Securities Lending Operations - Toronto, Canada - TEKsystems
Description
Securities lending associate position within the middle office team. This team supports the front office team and they are responsible with dealing with the daily reconciliations. They need to have an idea of how capital markets work and having solid finance backgrounds. They also need to have strong derivatives background. They need good communication skills because they have to communicate between front office and with internal / external counter parties. They are also dealing with corporate actions team, settlements team, recon team, finance department, etc.
In this role, you will:
● Join the Operations team, and work directly with our Manager, Securities Lending
Operations and other Operations Associates to execute on daily securities lending processes.
● Assists in maintaining positioning by booking returns from street side counterparties, and
provides support through the loan recall process
● Work to ensure timely loan and return settlement, and resolve related issues
● Collaborate with traders, product managers, engineering and other operations teams to
ensure effective and timely trade flow and settlement
● Interact with counterparties via email on on calls to execute on loans and recalls
● Support billing and month end processes
● Be able to represent the client with external parties (counterparties) and build
relationships within industry
● Support the development of operational procedures as we build out our Options business
● Support the treasury team with cash movements, including billing
● Support the onboarding of new counterparties

multitask, and manage your time well.
● Have a finance, accounting, business or similarly technical background
● Are passionate about technology, specifically fintech.
● Are organized with a strong attention to detail and be comfortable working on multiple
priorities with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
● Have strong collaboration skills and a positive attitude
● Are naturally curious: if something seems off, you want to figure out what's going on.
● Strong communication skills; you'll be working with front office (trading) and external
counterparties
● Interested in learning about the Securities Lending business
