    Description
    The Position:
    As our school is rapidly growing, we are in need of a strong and efficient Receptionist/Welcome Desk to manage the front of the house communications and tasks.

    This is a full time, permanent position with vacation time, recognition of all stat holidays and group health benefits (upon completion of set number of days). Further benefits discussed in job interview and outlined in employment contract.

    ***NOTE: Applicants must live in Ottawa or the immediate Ottawa area

    The role runs from 8:00AM - 4:10PM, Monday to Friday.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • First point of contact for anyone coming into the building - parents, building workers, presenters, visitors, etc. This includes watching the security cameras before allowing entrance through our front door security system
    • Answering phones and triaging the communication between Administration, the school Nurse, Teachers and Families
    • Morning greetings and interaction with students and families, this includes managing "student lates" on the attendance system (EDSEMBLI) and "late slip" distribution
    • Updating spreadsheets and facilitating communication (email and phone) around specific school services and programs such as: School Hot Lunches, Pre Care Services, Post Care Services, After school Club registration, & Uniform purchases.
    • Administrative tasks as requested and required.

    Role Requirements
    • Bilingual: French & English
    • Experience working within an educational environment is preferred, however experience managing the front office in a fast paced environment is welcomed.
    • Technically confident and experienced utilizing Google Suite of Products, Excel, Word, etc.
    • Exceptional communication and people skills. This includes excellent email communication/writing skills and the highest level of professionalism
    • Ability to flex and balance a variety of competing requests at the same time - multitasking is part of this role
    • Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks independently
    • Respecting the confidentiality of all communications and information that comes through this "first stop" position is essential
    • Positive approach, with the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders.
