EIPS is recruiting a full-time Systems Analyst IV - Applications Analyst with the Information Technologies department (IT).
Our Information Technologies department is located at our Central Office in Sherwood Park.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the primary direction of the Assistant Director of Data Systems, Information Technologies (IT), you will work in collaboration with central office department staff and school staff and support them in the use of student and business information systems, with a primary focus on:

  • Atlassian suite: development and system administration
  • PowerApps: develop and maintain custom apps
  • PowerBI: data analysis, reporting, and visualization
  • PowerSchool SIS and suite: data analysis, reporting, visualization, customization, and integrations


Additionally, you will analyze the business requirements of various working groups and identify and execute potential solutions to data systems in alignment with division goals.

Projects and Cyclical Maintenance

As an Applications Analyst, you will be responsible for various projects throughout their lifecycle:

  • Identify, validate, create, and promote compliance with business rules to enhance the level of service or functionality of the business system
  • Leverage device management platforms to extract and analyze or import/export data
  • Analyze, prepare and manipulate various division datasets; create dashboards and visualizations in conjunction with working groups to empower datainformed decisionmaking
  • Work with external vendors and internal departments to manage, install and maintain hardware and software upgrades to business systems
  • Coordinate testing of new updates/upgrades, test system portions of the updates and liaise with software companies to correct issues.
Support

  • Log system service, incident, problem and change requests in the endorsed ITSM system, including support documentation
  • Familiarizing staff with documented issues and workarounds
  • Analyzing, creating, modifying, and repairing reports or queries to meet business needs
  • Taking corrective action and recommending/executing strategies to prevent recurrent issues

As part of the IT Data Systems team, you will also:

  • Attend meetings with various internal and external working groups
  • Participate in discussions
  • Assist with change management and communication strategies
  • Liaise with school and department staff, and thirdparty vendors as appropriate
  • Assist in the development of strategic planning
  • Attend seminars, workshops and courses

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education

  • A minimum of a diploma, in a related discipline, from a technical postsecondary institution.
Experience

  • Atlassian suite development and administration: Jira Service Desk and Asset management, HTML, CSS, and Javascript, Atlassian's Insight/Assets & Discovery apps, SCCM/MECM, Google Admin, Gopher for Chrome, JAMF, AirServer, Cisco DNA Center, Intune, Apache Tomcat
  • PowerApps: PowerAutomate (formerly Flow), SharePoint
  • PowerBI: SQL, Oracle, MS SQL / T-SQL, DAX, PowerQuery M, Python, R, Postgress
  • PowerSchool K12 suite: SIS, Professional Learning, Special Programs, Enrollment
  • Miscellaneous: Atrieve ERP, Rycor, Brightspace LMS, Microsoft 365 suite, G Suite, SQL Developer, AngularJS, JSON, JQL, XML, ASP.NET, IIS, C#, Visual Basic, Microsoft Visual Studio, PowerShell
Equivalencies will be considered.
