Description

Permanent, full-time opportunity

Through its "Ignite Learning" campaign, the Durham District School Board (DDSB) has outlined its strategic priorities, which include Success, Well-Being, Leadership, Equity, Engagement and Innovation. This is an exciting opportunity for the Clinical Supervisor of Psychological Services to contribute meaningfully to these priorities.

Reporting to the Senior Manager and Clinical Lead - Psychological Services, you will oversee clinical services provided by registered and non-registered Psychological Services staff within a Family of Schools, to ensure that services are delivered in a professionally and ethically responsible manner, and in accordance with the regulations set out by the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO).

At the same time, you will ensure that direct client-based services are provided to students and staff, including assessment, consultation, counselling/therapy, crisis response, and capacity building to promote student well-being and achievement.

As
Clinical Supervisor of Psychological Services, you will also act in a hands-on capacity, providing direct psychological intervention to students and the controlled Act of Psychotherapy, as well as counselling and psychoeducational support and/or skills training, to improve students' social, emotional, learning or behavioural functioning.

This is a key role within the Inclusive Student Services Department, and you will make recommendations for interventions, programming, and safety planning, provide consultation to Special Education classes, and collaborate with community-based agencies for transition planning, seeking access for students to treatment programs, and advancing advocacy for the needs of the students and their families.

Building capacity within DDSB staff, support staff, parents/guardians, and other community groups will be a top priority, as you work actively to improve the ability of staff, parents and community members to promote student safety, mental health, development, well-being and achievement.
