Salary:

Classification 11, $50, $52,133.88 annually, as per the BCGEU Support Collective Agreement. Annual vacation (119 hours) is pro-rated, and front loaded. We offer competitive extended health and dental benefits (eligible after 6 months of employment). Support Collective Agreement includes time off for family illness, personal illness, and other special leaves. Closure during the Christmas Break (Dec 2- Jan 1) of each year is additional paid time off.

Enrolment in the Municipal Pension Plan is mandatory for all regular, full time support staff, with standard contributions matched by the employer.

As the Student Recruiter you will be responsible for recruiting new and returning students, providing information to prospective students and related markets, and engaging students in ongoing promotional activities (including workshops, tours of the college, etc.).

You will liaise with local school districts for dual-credit entry to the College, parents, and other external agencies, providing current program information and evaluating the required admissions documents to determine eligibility and status.

This position is significant to the College's growth and maximizing domestic enrolment in a competitive market. There will be extensive travel within the region and a requirement to work weekends and evenings (scheduled in advance).


Qualifications:


Required:

  • Successful completion of a postsecondary program from a recognized institution.
  • Superior interpersonal skills, with previous experience in public speaking and the ability to organize and present in large groups.
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate with various audiences.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision, and be collaborative with the team and other stakeholders.
  • Intermediate skill set with MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Must be willing to travel and have a valid Driver's License.

Preference:

  • Three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Have a strong understanding of postsecondary education system.
  • Experience with social media.
