Russell Hendrix Foodservice Equipment is looking for a
Distribution Manager **to join our Operations team in Ontario (Brockville).

Reporting to the Director of Distribution, you will be a driver of supply chain management, operations, solutions, and overall management of the Brockville Distribution Centre and the satellite warehouse locations in Toronto and Halifax.

This position requires leadership, a high attention to detail, and is an ideal position for an individual with experience in supply chain, inventory management, material requirement and planning, and project programs.

What You'll Do:


  • Responsible for people management of DC location as well as satellite warehouse locations.
  • Responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of staff to ensure they fully understand Russell Hendrix best practices, policies and procedures.
  • Sets clear performance expectations by implementing RH's Performance Management Program (PMP) and routinely measures the team members' performance.
  • Provides regular coaching and feedback and has a deep knowledge of the Team members' strengths and opportunities to coach.
  • Mentors and actively manages Team members' growth and development.
  • Works with HR to recruit and hire qualified Team members and oversees HRIS activities.
  • Manage operations for DC location and satellite warehouse location within province.
  • Manage the reception, handling, distribution, and storage of all freight, product, and supplies that come in and out of RH locations.
  • Ensure orders are shipped to customers in a timely manner in adherence to delivery schedules.
  • Monitor daily workflow in the warehouse and assist where necessary.
  • Ensure there are appropriate staffing levels to fulfill demands; schedule and assign employees to meet operational requirements.
  • Communicate regularly with senior management regarding volume, issues, system changes, etc.
  • Maintain relationships with freight carriers and act as main warehouse contact.
  • Problem solves warehouse related issues prior to approaching senior management.
  • Inspect warehouse regularly for safety, organizational and cleanliness concerns.
  • Work closely with Inventory Controller to address and correct any inventory related concerns originating in the warehouse.
  • Review measurement reports (e.g., transfers errors) daily and address any errors or concerns with appropriate employee(s)
  • Accountable for Distribution KPI objectives
  • Collaborate with Director of Distribution and other DC Managers to identify efficiencies and create new strategies.
  • Works with Director of Distribution to establish annual budget.
  • You are able to travel, as required.

Desire Skills and Experience:


  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • You have 4 years experience supervising teams in a similar setting, with strong formal and informal leadership skills.
  • You have experience managing remote locations.
  • You can efficiently manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • You are tech savvy and have experience in using MS Office Suite (including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • You have handson experience with ERP.
  • You have a proven ability to identify issues and implement solutions to overcome problems.
  • You have experience with budget preparation and management.
  • You are highly collaborative and team oriented.
  • You are proactive act without guidance or specific direction and bring new ideas to the table.
  • You are selfmotivated and results oriented, with experience working in a KPI driven environment.
  • You have excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
  • You are safety oriented, committed to upholding safety requirements and creating a culture of safety.
  • You are highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Comfortable with giving and receiving feedback.
  • You have knowledge of web analytics.
