    ASHCOR Technologies Ltd. is a subsidiary of ATCO and the largest independent marketed of fly ash in Western Canada. ASHCOR is adding to its dynamic team as it expands its reclaimed ash management facility north of Halkirk, Alberta. We are looking for an on-site Process EIT (Engineer In Training) to join us in the exciting work we do at the Ashcor Battle River plant. Reporting to the Director, Operations, it'll be your responsibility to help us optimize our production processes and equipment.

    This position reports to the Director, Operations and is responsible for identifying, developing and implementing reliability and process improvements to increase production, decrease equipment downtime and ensure quality product production. The Engineer establishes and maintains relationships and contacts with internal/external parties including Plant Management, the Calgary Engineering team, and Vendors to optimize the plant operations. The Process Engineer is accountable to ensure the company's health, safety and environmental requirements are followed in the exercise of all improvement efforts. The Process Engineer is required to be on site at minimum, 4 days a week.

    The position is based near Halkirk, AB at the ASHCOR Battle River site.

    What Else You Get To Do:

    • Employs a "safety-first" attitude and ensures all HSE requirements are followed.
    • Leads continuous improvement efforts for ASHCOR's RAM facility with focus including safety/environmental, production rates, reliability and cost
    • Responsible for identifying and implementing process and equipment improvements in collaboration with operations, engineering, management, and consultants
    • Develops and employs technical expertise regarding installed equipment and material processing
    • Coaches and mentors operating technicians on plant processes and equipment operating best practices
    • Incorporates technicians' observations and concerns to develop robust operational solutions
    • Documents improvements and learnings and builds shared library of process knowledge
    • Optimizes equipment performance through tuning and PLC interactions as needed
    • Assists with improvement in plant-mine practices to ensure quality material inputs

    Who You Are:

    • An undergraduate degree in Engineering; Mechanical or Chemical is preferred.
    • A minimum of 1 years' experience in industrial process, petrochemical, power generation, or mineral processing facilities
    • Mechanical discipline and practical experience is a necessity. Electrical, instrumentation, automation experience is preferred.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Knowledge of mineral-processing related industrial processes and technologies a plus
    • Proficient use of AutoCAD and MS Office packages including MS Project
    • Ability to think critically and problem solve
    • Basic Project Management principles
    • Self-starter with diverse and strong technical and analytical skills who is results focused and can manage effectively in a team environment
