Helping Hands Personal Assistants is looking to hire an energetic, self-directed, organized, and compassionate individual to join our team.

This friendly, caring, and respectful individual will be responsible for assisting clients with common activities of daily living, providing home support services, and building strong, meaningful relationships.


This individual must be able to commute and work in the Parkland County communities.


Helping Hands Personal Assistants is a locally owned company that has been serving the Edmonton community for over 6 years.

We provide a wide variety of personal assistant services and specialize in providing personal assistant services to aging adults and seniors.


A personal assistant for seniors is someone who aids and provides support to elderly individuals who may need help with various aspects of their daily lives.

This can include tasks such as managing medication schedules, organizing medical appointments, assisting with personal care, running errands, and managing household tasks.

In addition to these practical tasks, a personal assistant for seniors may also provide companionship and emotional support, by helping seniors stay socially engaged and connected to their communities.

They may accompany seniors on outings, help with hobbies and activities, and provide emotional support and encouragement.


Please note that there is no experience required for this position; previous healthcare employment is not required, but you must enjoy working with seniors.

Job Type:
Part time (Business hours are Monday to Friday 9AM-5PM)


Salary:
$18.00 per hour worked

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Following care plans and maintaining accurate client records utilizing the appropriate documentation
  • Developing and maintaining trusting relationships with clients while promoting physical and emotional independence
  • Having a clear understanding of the accountability and expectations that are associated with the delegated tasks
  • Being able to effectively communicate changes in the client condition to your supervisor and maintain effective relationships with other team members and the client's family
  • Proactively identify, promote, and seek to improve client safety as part of your everyday work
  • Providing meal preparation, light housekeeping, and/or providing companionship and personal assistance
  • Safely escorting and transporting clients on outings such as grocery shopping, doctors appointments, enrichment programs, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle with valid insurance is an asset
  • Current background or Criminal Reference Check
  • Smart phone with internet access
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal/written) and exercise good judgement is required while working independently
  • Ability to perform lifting and bending when assisting clients may be required; ability to lift and carry groceries, bags, and others

Job Type:
Part-time

Part-time hours: 20 per week


Salary:
From $18.00 per hour
