- This position is located in Lloydminster and requires the successful candidate to live in the area.
- This is a full‑time employee position with participation in a mandatory, defined on‑call rotation.
- Perform electrical work safely and efficiently in compliance with Cenovus policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems including VFDs, heat trace systems, electric motors, heaters, and MCC equipment.
- Execute Line of Defense (LOD) assurance activities such as Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), hazard identification, and behavior-based safety audits.
- Support emergent and high-priority (P1) maintenance work to ensure asset reliability and minimize downtime.
- Manage work orders including documentation, close‑out, follow‑up, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with Planning and Scheduling to provide job updates, support job package development, and ensure material and equipment readiness.
- Maintain effective material management, tool organization, and housekeeping standards.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary maintenance team while working independently with minimal supervision.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Journeyperson Electrician certification
- Dual‑ticket Electrician/Instrumentation is considered a strong asset
- Minimum 5 years' experience with industrial electrical systems; oil & gas or thermal operations
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

About this opportunity
Reporting to the Sr. Coordinator, Maintenance Asset Care South, the Maintenance Technician, Electrician will support the Lloydminster Thermal Assets. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high‑quality electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services that ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. You will work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to routine maintenance activities as well as priority emergent work.
