    What is the opportunity?
    The Lead Data Engineer will be responsible for developing and applying proper data architecture to optimize our ability to access and leverage data. The incumbent will create data pipelines to transform raw data, stored in a wide range of repositories, into useable datasets to enable a talented team of data scientists and data analysts to work efficiently. Additionally, this role requires supporting the use and improvement of operational stability of the ML analytics platform within RBC.

    What will you do?

    • Support the creation, design, and implementation of data pipelines
    • Engineer and implement solutions for efficient data workflows
    • Consult and support users on ETL practices
    • Provide support to users on analytics/ML platforms such as CP4D, CDP
    • Orchestrate analytics platform stability enhancements and drive them to completion
    • Research and propose new solutions integrating data and ML workflows using cloud technologies

    What do you need to succeed?
    Must Have

    • 8+ years of practical data engineering experience
    • Expert understanding of structured and relational data processing, ETL, big data processing, generation of analytical/statistical data features for use in ML training and inference pipelines.
    • Strong understanding of IBM CP4D platform, Openshift Cloud Platform, Cloud Storage technologies at RBC, CDP, Unix, and RBDMS technologies. Strong proficiency in Python, PySpark, Scala, R programming technologies.
    • Strong data analysis, business analysis, communication, and documentation skills.
    • Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, and knowledge of the retail and commercial credit risk business.

    Nice to Have

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
    • MLOps/Engineering background with a track record of supporting the training of and implementing models into production settings.
