- Bachelor's degree in Civil (concentration in Geotechnical or Geological Engineering) or Geotechnical Engineering from ABET or Engineers Canada accredited college/university
- 10+ years of experience in civil engineering
- Design experience of embankments, deep and shallow foundation design, temporary excavation support, and embankment condition assessments
- Enjoys collaborating with clients and co-workers and can collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team while applying geotechnical engineering skills from analysis and design through to construction
- A Master's in Civil Engineering with concentration in Geotechnical or Geological Engineering
- Experience performing dam safety, foundation, or construction inspections
- Experience in slope stability and seepage analyses, preferably with Slope/W and Seep/W software
- Experience developing geotechnical investigation, monitoring and instrumentation programs, and laboratory testing programs

Kleinschmidt has a full-time opening for a Senior Level Geotechnical Engineer to design and manage projects with a multi-disciplinary team for dam removals, embankment dam refurbishments, fish passage facilities, recreation facilities, renewable energy projects, and stream restorations. We are looking for someone to join a dynamic team of professionals working on unique projects across the US and Canada.
This position is open to candidates in Nova Scotia, Canada . Our flexibility and core value of relationships allow us to offer employees the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment including working from the office and remotely. This position would require working from the office a minimum of one day per week to coordinate with project teams and mentor staff.
