At Westrock our procurement department excels by working together to ensure our production teams have the supplies and services they need to manufacture high quality consumer packaging to meet customer deadlines.

Main purchasing categories include Inks and coatings, adhesives, printing press supplies, and contracted services.

This role is on contract with chances to become permanent in 2024. Opt-in to work from home rotation with other department members (2 days/week) after training has been completed.

Major Job Responsibilities:


  • Taking purchase requests from department managers and submitting them to our suppliers
  • Corrects discrepancies between purchase orders and supplier invoices in a timely manner
  • Maintaining uptodate audit records (certificates of insurance, WSIB, supplier price lists)
  • Ensuring consistent quality by issuing quality nonconformance reports to suppliers
  • Working with manager and quality department on vendor evaluations and scorecards
  • Working with suppliers to obtain favorable pricing and/or sourcing new products
  • Maintains inventory levels needed to avoid out of stock situations
  • Communicating policy requirements, back orders, and out of stock issues to the team

What you need to work at WestRock:

  • Must have high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Professional communication when responding to common inquiries or complaints
  • Must be comfortable with basic math to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, and unit of measure conversions
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited fouryear college or university or equivalent in related field is an asset
  • Procurement experience or related materials management responsibilities is an asset
