Humber River Health is recruiting for a
Research Coordinator in our Post-Discharge Call Center. This role will lead and coordinate the collection and analysis of patient survey data required to meet regulatory reporting requirements and standards that contribute to management decision-making and organizational funding.

This role will contribute to improving the health of our community by engineering safe systems, enhancing patient/family experience and outcome and reducing organizational risks and costs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Post Discharge Call Center staff in the professional calling, coding, abstracting and analysis of patient experience information in compliance with legal, regulatory, and operational requirements
  • Lead and coordinate the collection and processing of mandated patient experience and patient satisfaction data analysis for purposes of analysis and providing legislated reports to external agencies on HRH performance as measured through patient experience and satisfaction.
  • Assist manager in managing departmental resources to meet reporting requirements.
  • Develop utilization reports, data quality monitoring processes, and conduct detailed system
- audits/reviews to maintain CIHI reporting databases integrity

  • Document data quality issues to develop mitigation plans in collaboration with registration data quality, IS&T, and clinical program areas
  • Maintain database rules, codes, etc. and interface in collaboration with Meditech for clinical Inpatient, Outpatient, Rehabilitation, and Mental Health departments
  • Submit hospital performance for benchmarking against other hospitals (e.g. patient experience, patient satisfaction, would you recommend, etc. from the Canadian Patient Experience Survey) and ensures best practices are followed
  • Act as point of contact for CIHI to address systems issues and update database configurations in XML
  • Promote and enhance Health Data and Reporting by researching and analyzing process improvements that meet CIHI requirements.

Requirements:


  • Completion of an Undergraduate Degree in Health Information Management or equivalent
  • A minimum of 5 years of recent experience as a senior data analyst in acute healthcare is required
  • Leadership experience and a Masters in Science, Biostatistics or equivalent is preferred
  • Knowledge of Information flow and interdependences, data management and alaysis and report development and management
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.)XML programming language, report writing (e.g. Crystal Reports, CIHI's coding methodology and databases), SQL queries
  • Great problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
