    Description

    One of our client is looking for a Safety Manager for their Company .The Safety Manager is responsible for the entire safety management system at the plant, through the principles of Responsible Care.

    In addition, he is responsible for managing activities related to health and safety, such as:

    the health and safety prevention program, the joint health and safety committee, the emergency response plan, Process Safety Management (PSM), site safety as well as representing the plant in health and safety matters at head office and externally.

    Responsibilities
    Jointly responsible with the plant management committee for the strategic health and safety development plan for the site.

    Advises management and service managers on safety objectives, orientations, action plans and training.

    Promotes prevention activities. Identifies, evaluates, and controls the risks of different sectors of activity. Develop policies and procedures to manage risks effectively.

    Ensures compliance with corporate policies and provincial and federal regulations relating to health and safety in the workplace.

    Establishes, in collaboration with the management team, H&S performance indicators and ensures the required follow-ups.

    Responsible for implementing initiatives to continue establishing a culture in H&S.

    Must ensure that incidents/accidents are investigated, that the causes are identified, and corrective measures taken.

    Qualifications

    More than 5 years of industrial experience in occupational health and safety management, preferably in the chemical manufacturing sector or a related sector.

    Academic training in the field of health and safety would be an asset.

    Work experience in Quebec and excellent knowledge of H&S laws, standards, and regulations at both the provincial and federal levels.

    Knowledge of GSP, risk analysis (HAZAN), Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
    Knowledge of methods for root cause analysis of incidents and accidents.
    Bilingual (French and English)
