Corporate Trainer (Technical Training Specialist) working out of our Head Office in Winnipeg, MB.


The Corporate Trainer will be responsible to provide training to all Canadian Associates within GHY on our tools and processes, specific to the customs brokerage industry.

Your Responsibilities:


  • Develop onboarding trainee program and documentation for various roles.
  • Develop curriculum and training materials for programs.
  • Design effective 'industryspecific' training programs for GHYU.
  • Develop skills assessment process for various roles to accommodate hiring and training requirements.
  • Conduct seminars, workshops, andindividual and group training sessions.
  • Document and Maintain Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Assist in accelerating organizational change when new systems and/or processes are being implemented.
  • Liaise with managers to determine training needs and schedule training sessions.
  • Obtain feedback from employees regarding theeffectiveness of training methods and suggestions for additional training programs.
  • Maintaining accurate training records for individual performance appraisal.
  • Monitor employee performance and response to training.
  • Conduct evaluations to identify performance gaps; create PIPs as required.
  • Develop recommended reading program.
  • Design programs and training materials for client training programs.

Educational Requirements:


  • Completion of Grade 12 Education.
  • Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) Designation.
  • Certified Trade Compliance Specialist Designation.

Your Experience:


  • 10+ years of experience in the Customs Brokerage industry.
  • Experience creating and facilitating technical training.

Your Skills:


  • Ability to prioritize in a fastpaced, constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to selfmotivate and work independently.
  • Advanced knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Exceptional client service skills.


  • Experience with ITMR

  • Professional oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Customs rules and regulations.
  • Recognize OGDs and impacts of OGDs at time of release.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Work within tight deadlines.
