WHO ARE WE?
We're a collective of hostels with super local character. A social economy business. We help everybody explore our neck of the woods like a local. From the tip of the Gaspé Peninsula to the Great Lakes of Ontario, we offer social accommodation. A place to meet up with people who come from all over the world.

Together, we help grow the nomad community.


YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that the rooms and the common areas of the hostel are maintained and are operating as efficiently and effectively as possible.

You will work closely with our Housekeeping Manager to make sure that the hostel is ready to welcome our travellers.

MORE SPECIFICALLY, YOU WILL BE CALLED TO

• Maintain and repair when necessary, the building doors, walls, locks and windows including basic repair, painting and occasionally carpentry;
• Maintain, adjust and conduct minor repairs to plumbing and electrical facilities;
• Keep the outside grounds, roadways and parking areas free of ice, dust, dirt and garbage.
• Manage or work with the appropriate contractor to ensure the system is repaired in a timely manner;
• Help the housekeeping team with housekeeping duties;
• Implement the regularly scheduled maintenance plan in a timely manner;
• Plan and implement special projects as required;
• Assist in the development and when necessary the implementation of emergency maintenance plans and procedures;
• Proactively evaluate and ensure the hostel's maintenance is running smoothly through use of the maintenance log and/or communication with the Manager, Assistant Manager, Housekeeping Manager and the Front Desk Associates;
• Other duties as needed.

YOU'RE THE PERFECT CANDIDATE IF

• You have experience in maintenance or handywork;
• You have excellent organisational skills and problem solving skills;
• You are a team player;
• You understand the needs of guests and staff in a hostel;
• You have the ability to operate in both official languages, an asset.
