Our business seeks the addition of a Service Technician / Mechanic suitable to fill a position within our
Reel Grinding Department for our Calgary, Alberta Head Office location.

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Washing, tear-down and job quoting of golf course cutting equipment;
  • Grinding, refinishing and setup of golf course cutting equipment;
  • Inspecting the product lines of Toro and Yamaha to detect faults and malfunctions;
  • Perform routine maintenance on all Oakcreek product lines, including, but not limited to oil and fluid changes, lubrications and other routine maintenance on equipment;
  • Installation of various Oakcreek product line accessories, including, but not limited to canopies, decks, tillers, winches, blades, etc.;
  • Perform diagnostics and determine extent of repair required on defective products due to fault or malfunction;
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems using hand and power tools;
  • Service attachments and working tools;
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications;
  • Travel to customer locations as directed from time to time by your manager and/or supervisor to perform onsite any of the duties outlined above.
  • Minimum Automotive, Outdoor Power Equipment, Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeyman/Journeywoman or Millwright preferred but not required.
  • Will consider 2nd year apprentice or higher with intent to complete certification in the future;
  • Minimum two to five years of related work experience;
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines;
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize issues;
  • Excellent verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to be selfmotivated and work independently as well as with a team;
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels and departments;
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and achieve results;
  • You will be required to provide your own tools in a tool box. Some job specific and specialty tools are provided as "shop tools" to complete certain jobs;
  • A valid class 5 driver's licence and clean abstract is required, as this position may utilize a company vehicle for deliveries from our shop location.
  • You may be required to travel to the US or abroad for vendorspecific certification. A valid passport and ability to enter countries outside of Canada is a requirement for this position.
