What will I be doing?
The
Security Guard is to provide and maintain security to the hotel and Guests.

The
Security Guard will spend the majority of their time patrolling the grounds and premises of the hotel and monitoring the hotel via security cameras.

While on patrol, they will keep a log of unusual or problematic occurrences, and they often act as a liaison between the Police and the Hotel.

This Team Member will ensure all Guests encountered feel cared for, valued and respected.

The essential duties of a
Security Guard include but are not limited to:


  • Responding to all guest and hotel requests and emergency situations in a timely and professional manner
  • Interacting with all guests and team members in a congenial and sincere manner, and conduct all duties professionally and confidentially
  • Continuously patrolling and inspecting assigned areas as scheduled, and promptly report all irregularities, hazardous conditions, and suspicious occurrences
  • Enforcing, while on duty, all company polices
  • Maintaining orderly and safe conduct of all guests and team members while on duty
  • Preventing unauthorized removal of guest or hotel property from the guest rooms, common areas, operations and/or premises
  • Ensuring daily lock up and safety procedures, as specified, in all designated areas
  • Assisting in, as directed, the investigation of incidences of suspected theft or misconduct
  • Administering First Aid & CPR to guests and team members as needed, following all safety precautions
  • Properly investigating and documenting, as specified, all guest and team member incidents relating to illness, injury, theft and or damage of property
  • Becoming completely familiar with the company's Contingency Plan for responding to all specified emergencies

Education

  • Diploma in Police Foundations, Immigration and Customs, or Law and Security is an asset

Requirements:


  • Valid PSISA Security License
  • First Aid and CPR Level C Certificate
  • Smart Serve Certification
  • Must be able to complete a Criminal Background Check to the hotel's satisfaction.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a Security Guard position required
  • Security Guard experience in a Hotel setting is an asset
  • Must be able to walk and stand for eight hours if required
  • Strength, stamina, and physical fitness for timesensitive emergency responses

Skills

  • Solid securitybased experience and/or law and security education and training is necessary to perform in this position
  • The ability to prepare professional reports and documents
  • Strong and comprehensive writing ability
  • Superb interpersonal skills
  • Ability to accurately communicate in English; verbal and written
  • Ability to analyze and problem solve
  • Must be able to maintain the highest levels of integrity and credibility

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to stand and walk for duration of shift
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, and stretch to complete all work functions during normal and emergency situations
  • Potential injury/assault due to disgruntled guests and team members
  • Speaking-Dealing with Team Members and guests
