Copywriter, Volunteer

Director of Communications & Marketing

Work Arrangement:

Note:
This is a remote-based volunteer position that reports to the Marketing and Communications Director. No financial compensation is offered.

Job Summary
We are seeking a talented Copywriter to develop short and concise copy for advertisements, publications, and websites. Your writing will inform and captivate audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Write clear, attractive copy with a distinct voice
Work with Marketing teams to ensure that the visual elements of the webpage complement the words
Write for web pages, blogs and potentially for social media, slogans, and video script
Researches and edits copy that will be used in various forms of advertising.

Required Education/Training

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public relations or Journalism, or related field
Previous copywriting experience or a keen interest in pursuing copywriting role
Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
A portfolio or presentation of work that demonstrates your abilities

Qualifications

A knowledge of SEO is considered useful but not required
Excellent interpersonal skills and creative communicator.
Excellent speaking, grammar, creative writing, and editing skills.
Interest in nonprofit sector

Term/Commitment
This position requires a minimum 3-month commitment for an average of 2-4 hours per week, hybrid work.
