JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Supervise production staff in the manufacturing of products including scheduling, organizing workflow, resolving problems, meeting deadlines, and overseeing quality.
  • Plan shift activities and assign tasks to all shift members to ensure the highest level of production efficiency and output.
  • Supervise batch process operations according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
  • Monitor and provide general oversight to the working environment to ensure that food safety policies and procedures are complied with.
  • Review all documentation, including batch records, cleaning sheets, logs, etc. in real time during the shift. Make sure that all corrections are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Review training documents for completeness and identify any gaps in training and close the identified gaps within established timelines.
  • Actively contribute to all cost saving activities in production department
  • Monitor the quantity and quality of product ensuring that it is of the required standard.
  • Accountable for identifying improvement opportunities and implementing action plans within the production team to ensure the highest level of operational efficiency.
  • Assist in inventory management of both raw and finished goods.
  • Monitor and assist with inventory of both raw and finished goods on a weekly (sometimes daily) basis and adjust the production schedule as required to maintain established inventory levels.
  • Must be prepared to cook and/or perform in production as needed.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:


  • Expert skills in handling hazardous chemicals (WHMIS)
  • Expert skills and knowledge of required rules and regulations
  • Possess strong written skills to effectively review and revise SOPs, batch records, cleaning sheets and other documents
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills and knowledge
  • Ability to work well under pressure and use good judgment in assessing and responding to difficult situations

  • Requires walking, bending, lifting (up to 50lbs.), crouching, standing throughout the day

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
$20.00-$25.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

  • Overtime pay

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Tobermory, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:
