Position: 2023 Elementary Summer Learning Programs - Summer Institute (SI) Junior Counsellor


Work Location:
Dr. Bette Stephenson Centre for Learning (36 Regatta Ave, Richmond Hill, ON L4E 4R1); Summer Institute (SI) locations throughout York Region


Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm


Age: 14 to 17 years old (and returning to Secondary School in September 2023)


Salary:
$15.50/hour plus 4% vacation pay (students under 18 years who have not completed the Secondary School Graduation Diploma)


Number of Positions:
Various, depending on enrollment

Thank you for your interest in the position of 2023 Elementary Summer Learning Programs - Summer Institute (SI) Junior Counsellor.

Hiring for this position will take place on an ongoing basis (between the months of March to June), determined by system needs.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

To

support the delivery of Summer Institute programs under the direction of

the Summer Institute Principal and Summer Institute Program Leaders

To

assist with the supervision of all participants during program hours

To

demonstrate positive leadership qualities

To

actively participate in the daily operation of the programs and

special activities associated with it

To

contribute to the staff team environment

To

attend a mandatory training day in June

Other

duties as assigned

All Summer Institute (SI) programs operate from July 6 to August 11.

The SI Site locations are:
Crosby Heights PS (Richmond Hill)

Ellen Fairclough PS (Markham)

Fairwood PS (Keswick)

Glen Cedar PS (Newmarket)

Oscar Peterson P.S. (Stouffville)

Sixteenth Avenue PS (Richmond Hill)

Sutton District HS (July 6 to 28)

Teston Village PS (Maple)

Wilclay PS (Markham)

Woodbridge PS (Woodbridge)
