- Support with fundraising events including annual signature events and community and peer-to-peer (P2P) events.
- Support with donor stewardship, maintenance of donor database, and administration of donor records including tax receipts and constituent contact history.
- Assist with gathering program information like statistics, numbers, testimonials, and pictures from various departments to assist with the research and writing of donor funding reports as well as the quarterly Friends of Sherbourne donor e-newsletter.
- Create and manage effective donor and stewardship pipelines.
- Develop and coordinate a donor volunteer program.
- Assist in reporting on fundraising progress towards targets assigned intervals; identify & flag trends, opportunities, and any issues that will have an impact on revenue.
- Support the development and presentation of funding and grant proposals and 'asks' that meet the needs of Sherbourne and/or support, refine and coordinate other staff/volunteer proposals/presentations as required.
- Keep abreast and share knowledge of current and emerging charitable sector trends and legislation around fundraising, including AFP and CRA requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion of donor and donation records in line with donor wishes and fundraising protocols and legal obligations.
- Work closely with communications department to provide digital and social donor recognition.
- Perform other related tasks as necessary or appropriate.
- College or University degree/diploma, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 3 years of related fund development experience, preferably in a health or social services-related organization.
- Communications experience specifically with social media and e-newsletters.
- Design experience specifically with Canva and creating social posts, email headers, infographics, and donor reports and presentations.
- Donor facing experience and strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills with a demonstrated ability to write clear, engaging content for a variety of communications materials, purposes, and audiences.
- Experience working for a community-based organization and/or vulnerable populations with an anti-oppression framework is highly desired.
- Demonstrates excellent problem-solving, decision making and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrates excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage a variety of projects on tight deadlines.
- Experience with donor databases, data entry, report writing, and tax receipting.
- Demonstrates commitment to fostering a healthy and positive work environment in accordance with Health & Safety policy and legislation.
- Engages in ethical conduct and strives to understand and appreciate the diversity of our patient/staff population and community.

about the role:
Generally, the Fund Development Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Manager, Fund Development in the implementation of Sherbourne's fund development strategy to help raise the organization's profile and improve funding. This includes supporting fundraising events, engaging with and stewarding donors, and the tracking and maintenance of donor data.
The Fund Development Coordinator will be integral in increasing the capacity of Sherbourne Health's fundraising efforts as they work with the Manager Fund Development, to build new opportunities and develop successful plans to secure donations and sponsorships. They will develop and execute a peer-to-peer and third-party fundraising strategy, coordinate fundraisers, and work on developing new donor and community partnerships. The incumbent will have a background in fundraising and experience in annual appeals, individual giving, grant research and writing, donor communications, and special events.
Scope of the Mandate:
The Fund Development Coordinator role is involved in day-to-day fund development activities both internally and externally. The Fund Development Coordinator ensures clients, donors, partners and employees receive timely and accurate information and support.

The Fund Development Coordinator position requires working in a fast-paced environment meeting the needs of multiple departments. Time management, multi-tasking, initiative, organization, and prioritizing are essential. Work is mainly performed in an office environment, but the candidate may need to work from home occasionally. Work outside of normal working hours may be required.
