This position is a part of the Association of the Academic Staff of the University of Alberta (AASUA).
In accordance with the Temporary Librarian, Administrative and Professional Staff (TLAPO) Agreement, this position offers a comprehensive benefits package found on our Benefits Overview page and annual salary range of $63,090 - $105,189.
Location - Work primarily takes place at North Campus Edmonton.

Position
The Work Integrated Learning Lead is accountable to recruit, develop and manage the relationship with research focused employers and works in collaboration with the Employer Relationship Managers.
They are also responsible to ensure high ethical and professional standards are followed by the employers during their relationship with the students.
The Work Integrated Learning Lead assesses employment proposals (jobs) from employers and evaluates the positions offered to students in order to confirm adequacy and tangible learning potential.
Faculty of Engineering undergraduate enrolment is 4,900 students; approximately 58% are not in the Co-op program.- There are 1456 qualifying year students and 1462 traditional students
- Due to the Faculty size, there is the constant requirement to diversify fields and generate new employment partners.
- The Work Integrated Learning Lead is responsible for relationship management and stewardship of high quality research and summer employment opportunities for students.
In alignment with the University of Alberta Research and Innovation Strategic Plan Forward With Focus, the Faculty of Engineering strives to be a leader in knowledge generation and translation, inspiring solutions to grand challenges of local, provincial, national and global importance through creativity, research, innovation and higher education.
Undergraduate students are supported to achieve these objectives through work integrated learning with a focus on people and nurturing emerging researchers.
The role of the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Lead will encourage and enhance the inclusion of undergraduate students into learning environments within local, national and international communities to develop the engineers of tomorrow.
The Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Lead contributes to the success of the Faculty of Engineering by facilitating student education on career and professional development as well as networking and employment opportunities with a focus on integrating research experiences that develop the innovative engineer.
The WIL Lead will establish relationships throughout the Faculty, with the College of Natural and Applied Sciences, and the University of Alberta as well as research-related industries to develop WIL and/or employment opportunities for all undergraduate students.
The WIL Lead works both independently and collaboratively to attain high levels of measurable achievement by providing service to students and maintaining partnerships which result in fulfillment of mutual goals for all students and employer partners.
