You as a Food Services Supervisor at The Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre will:

  • Be responsible for the daily activities of the Food Service Department to ensure that the nutritional needs of each client is met by utilizing the computerized menu system, and updating patient records according to therapeutic needs.
  • Supervise the production of food which includes cooking/reheating, presentation, safety and sanitation and client satisfaction.
  • Ensure that the high quality services offered by the department are within established budget and existing legislative parameters.
  • Assist in scheduling, labour relations, health and safety, and conflict resolution

Is this the right role for you?

  • Must have a Food and Nutrition Management Diploma
  • Member in good standing with the CSNM (Canadian Society of Nutrition Management)
  • Valid advanced food safety training from a recognized institution
  • Minimum one (1) year relevant healthcare food service experience
  • Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with computerized menu systems (Computrition, CBORD, MealSuite, et
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills(both oral and written)
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Knowledge of Therapeutic Diets
  • Ability to multitask, and adapt to a changing work environment
  • Experience working in a unionized environment
  • Ability to work harmoniously and demonstrate flexibility
  • Ability to maintain high professional and ethical standards
  • Able to work between the hours of 8:00am6:30pm and rotational weekends.
