WHAT THE ROLE IS:


As a Supervisor:
support the daily management of the Warehouse department. Supervising the department staff and act as the go to person in the absence of the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities include management of all functions of inventory, sanitation, and shipping/receiving; as well as, planning, assigning, and leading the work of the Warehouse team.


As a member of the Warehouse team: perform work in a team-based setting, operating various equipment and/or performing tasks that contribute to the accuracy and fulfillment of customer orders.

Work with mínimal supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement.


WHAT YOU WILL DO:


  • Performs or supervises Warehouse duties including the efficient operation of order picking, checking product for quality and accuracy, filling shorts, loading, shipping, and receiving of inventory.
  • Ensures completion of and accurate review of daily and weekly HACCP checklists.
  • Regularly reviews the progress of work in the department to ensure that staff are supported, questions have been answered, and problems solved.
  • Develop and maintain an effective department through the assignment of personnel and employee training, including completion of training documentation.
  • Manage scheduling and staffing levels to accommodate required work (approve and organize overtime if required).
  • Coordinate with Supervisor colleagues for the daily planning and execution of Warehouse operations across multiple shifts.
  • Performs weekly briefings (preshift meetings) with employees to review objectives, service levels, quality concerns, productivity, and allocation of duties.
  • Attends as directed, all training meetings and/or professional development sessions.
  • Directs drivers on tasks to complete during nondriving times in the Warehouse.
  • Advise Transportation Manager/Driver Supervisor and Maintenance department of any identified fleet repairs.
  • Maintains an awareness of par levels of product and notifies Buyers immediately of any par levels concerns being low stock or slow movement of.
  • Take direction from the Operations Manager and keep them informed of department activities on an ongoing basis.
  • In the absence of Operations Manager performs duties including but not limited to: Submitting work orders for items needing repair or maintenance. Act as the go to person, supervising the department and staff.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:


  • 2 years' experience in warehousing, quality, and inventory control.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, direct and train 520 staff.
  • Maintains forklift and pallet jack certification. (Islands West to Provide)
  • Must be comfortable using MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written (English).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Ability to safely bend, twist and lift to 50 lbs. on a consistent basis.
  • Ability to walk and stand for the duration of scheduled shift.
  • Ability to work in a refrigerated environment.
