The
Estimator will play an integral role responsible for supporting the Sales and Project Management Team.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Estimating Architectural millwork projects which include performing takeoffs and detailed analysis for quotations and obtaining quotations from installers and suppliers
- Review and understand all contract documents
- After understanding the scope, complete accurate and detailed takeoffs using a proprietary software system
- Use internal and external resources to obtain accurate material prices and vendor quotes
- Combine all material, production, shipping, and other associated costs in order to calculate a final proposed bid price for the client
- Communicate thoroughly with clients regarding RFIs and clarifications
- Respond accurately to client and internal questions about the scope of work and takeoffs
- Upon bid acceptance, attend required internal handoff meetings to ensure efficient and complete transfer of information
- Other duties as assigned by the manager
YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 35 years of millwork estimating experience
- 35 or more years estimating custom, commercial, and architectural millwork
- Thorough knowledge of millwork and cabinetrelated materials and hardware (wood species, veneer, core materials, laminate, solid surfacing, functional hardware, decorative hardware, countertop materials, glass, finishes, molding, etc)
- Be thoroughly knowledgeable of custom commercial architectural millwork with AWMAC standards
- Blueprint reading and understanding of all construction documents and standards related to the millwork industry
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is a definite asset
- Strong problemidentification and problemresolution skills
- Professionalism
- Able to effectively build and maintain strong relationships and proven communication skills both verbal and written
- Excellent attention to detail
EDUCATION:
- Degree(s) and/or certificate(s) in architecture, engineering, construction, and/or project management
