Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centred clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.


Position Overview:


Reporting to the Lead, Outpatient Programs, the manager is responsible for the ongoing administrative and clinical supervision of of assigned services within SH Outpatient Programs.

The manager will participate in, and contribute to, the development, implementation, operation and evaluation of programs.

They will use their experience and expertise to ensure that a client centered philosophy and approach is maintained, enhanced and integrated into the development, provision and support of Shared Health programs and services.


Main Function:

The Manager provides administrative and clinical supervision to the staff within the assigned programs within SH Outpatient Programs.

The manager will lead a team(s) including a focus on identifying clinical training needs and program resources, and development to ensure a high functioning, effective and professional team that is focused on clients.


Experience:


  • 5 years directly related clinical experience with working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and principles of recovery.
  • 2 years in supervisory and managing in a unionized and interdisciplinary team environment.
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Service SystemShared Health.
  • Experience in community development and project management.
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership, program coordination and management skills.
  • Expertise and experience in clinical practice consultation, performance management of interdisciplinary staff and team building.
  • Knowledge and experience in the area of human resource management, budgets and financial reporting.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate):


  • BSW, BSc.
MH, BSc.
PN, BN, or related health/human service education required.

  • MSW, MOT, MSc.
PN, MN, MA (Psychology), MPH, preferred.

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Certification/Licensure/Registration:


  • Active member in good standing of an associated regulatory body as appropriate.
  • Licensure/Registration as per professional designation required.
  • Valid driver's license and access to/use of a vehicle.
  • Adult & Child Abuse Registry Check.
  • Criminal records check.
  • Immunizations as per Shared Health policy.

Qualifications and Skills:


  • Sound knowledge and understanding of evidencebased practice including current knowledge in the areas of mental health and addictions.
  • Knowledge in the area of Co-Occurring Disorders.
  • Demonstrates skill and knowledge related to Motivational Interviewing techniques
  • Ability to work independently within an interdisciplinary and intersectoral context.
  • Able to maintain excellent working relationships with a broad range of individuals and organizations, including the ability to facilitate, collaborate and resolve conflict.
  • Ability to handle sensitive system level issues in a multilevel service system with professionalism.
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching and mentoring abilities.
  • Experience responding to complex and difficult team issues.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The provincial health system in Manitoba has adopted the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework.

Physical Requirements:


  • May be required to travel throughout the service area requiring a valid Manitoba driver's license and use of a personal motor vehicle.
