Position Overview
As Lead Barista / AM Beverage Program Coordinator at Cabot Cape Breton, you will play a key role in the development of a mew specialty coffee concept, co-located at our resort in Inverness, Nova Scotia.
We are looking for someone with extensive barista experience and a strong entrepreneurial spirit to support the development, setup, and growth of this new offering.
You will play an integral role in shaping the AM Beverage Program at the resort, and overseeing the establishment of an outlet dedicated to specialty coffee to serve the our resort guests, as well as the community of Inverness.
Key ResponsibilitiesExecute and oversee daily café operations, ensuring consistent service excellence.
Prepare high‑quality specialty coffee beverages following established standards.
Support the setup, layout, and ongoing evolution of the new café concept.
Assist in developing standard operating procedures, workflows, and service guidelines.
Maintain product quality, cleanliness, and adherence to food safety standards.
Contribute to menu planning and product innovation.
Provide leadership, training, and guidance to baristas and support staff.
Foster a welcoming, guest‑centred environment.
Collaborate with leadership on continuous improvement initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications And Skills
Five years' culinary experience
Demonstrated verbal and interpersonal communications skills
Able to multi-task and solve problems under pressure
Able to work long hours
Able to maintain a positive attitude and attendance record at all times
Highly responsible & reliable
Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
Requirements Of The Role You Should Be Aware Of

Spending long hours walking, standing, and using knife skills.
Frequently lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
