Administrative Coordinator, Jays Care Programs


Administrative Coordinators on the Jays Care Programs team are tasked with providing administrative support on a wide range of projects that are all designed to help level the playing field.

Our work enables us to work with and support communities facing a wide range of barriers including, but not limited to:
poverty, food insecurity, inaccessibility, ableism, racism, sexism, and homophobia.

Every project we devote time, funding and energy to has been well-researched, informed by our wide range of advisors, and is designed specifically to break down barriers and fortify strengths for children and youth.

Jays Care is looking for a
highly organized, detail-oriented, stellar administrator who will focus their energy primarily on the following initiatives:

Community Partners Program:Jays Care's Community Partners Program is designed to provide support and access for grassroots organizations, non-profit organizations and First Nations to implement any of the following programs: Girls At Bat, Rookie League, Indigenous Play Ball and Challenger Baseball. Jays Care provides coach trainings, coach resource kits, equipment, shirts/hats and a small disbursement if requested.

Youth Justice:Youth Justice provides a space for youth in custody to experience trauma informed, safe and fun baseball for development programming. The Program runs in Youth Justice Facilities across Canada to help youth in custody develop enhanced confidence, leadership skills and growth mindset.

Top of the First DE&I Program:The Toronto Blue Jays and Jays Care Foundation teamed up to design and deliver Top of the First - a FREE workshop series for coaches, officials, league administrators and adult volunteers. This program equips participants with clear action plans, tools, and enhanced skills for creating more equitable, inclusive, and accessible programming. NCCP registered coaches receive three PD Points upon receiving official certification.

National BGC Camp Program: Jays Care Foundation offers staff training and a funding program to support all forms of in-person summer day camps across BGCs. This program is designed to help BGCs offer robust, dynamic, trauma-sensitive and inclusive summer day camps that promote belonging and recovery from the impacts of COVID-19.


Type of role: 1-year, full time, contract


Pay:
$22/hour

Senior Manager, Community Programs and Project Manager, Youth Justice


Jays Care Administrative Coordinators are highly skilled at:

  • Utilizing feedback and building it in to their development and goals
  • Using a standardized format for providing constructive feedback to others
  • Actively scheduling opportunities for debriefing, discussion and feedback
  • Seeing conflict as an opportunity for transformation and growth

ADMINISTRATIVE EXPERTIZE

  • Working with Excel and other Microsoft tools
  • Booking flights and accommodations with great attending to details
  • Reviewing and revising registration forms and key assessment forms
  • Ensuring that all documents and databases are spellchecked and reviewed for inconsistencies

EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE

  • Communicating clearly (both in writing and orally)
  • Solving problems with optimism and creativity
  • Responding to challenges and issues with a sense of calm and accountability
