Job Summary:
The Yard Labourer under the direction of the ITR Manager, will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the ITR line as required, producing a clean, quality product; maintaining machines and cleanliness of plant; ensuring safety, including regulatory awareness of all equipment and operations.
Responsibilities:
- Picks up, checks and places tires on the conveyor belt.
- Check tires for rocks, steel, tubes, studs and thickness continuously and accurately, separating those not suitable for shredder.
- Helps with maintenance as required.
- Performs all functions according to proper safety practices.
- Maintains good communication with fellow employees, lead hands, etc.
- Cleans area around machine daily.
- Performs other duties, including operating forklift, as required.
Requirements:
- Forklift certification, experience or equivalent is an asset
- Previous loader experience is an asset
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of appropriate safety procedures for all equipment and operations
- Able to work well as part of a team
- Willing to work in inclement weather
- Physically fit and able to lift 50lbs
