    Based in York Region in a primarily remote working environment – Reporting to the VP – Local Government Affairs, the Field Surveyor will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities, helping the team to gather important information, through conducting comprehensive surveys to identify areas of opportunity.

    This summer job opportunity you will help you to build new skills and experiences in the telecommunications industry.

    Your primary objective will be to locate and document areas where construction projects have been initiated or where construction activities may be forthcoming.

    Your role is crucial in ensuring accurate data collection and mapping to facilitate efficient planning and execution.

    Conduct on-site surveys in areas where recent construction projects by have been completed or are underway
    Locate and document markers or signs indicating construction activities
    Record accurate coordinates and details of construction sites using GPS devices, surveying equipment, or digital mapping tools
    Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, and other stakeholders to communicate findings and ensure alignment with project timelines and requirements
    Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while conducting field surveys to ensure personal safety and compliance with regulatory standards
    Conduct online search to identify and confirm service availability
    Ensure the accuracy and integrity of collected data through thorough verification and validation processes
    Prepare detailed reports summarizing survey findings, including site descriptions, coordinates, and any relevant observations
    Superior level of planning and organizing skills
    Comfortable learning new technical systems and skills as needed

    College or University degree in related field is an asset
    Experience working with construction companies or utility providers is an asset

    Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    ~ Experience working in a diverse and inclusive environment
    ~ Must have valid G driver's license and a vehicle with valid insurance
