Job Duties
Provide instruction to students enrolled in the Sheet Metal Worker program.
Design and implement a studentcentered learning environment using an outcomebased approach in either a facetoface or online delivery mode.
Prepare and deliver lessons, assignments, lectures and demonstrations using principles of adult learning.
Develop new curriculum, training aids, and materials as needed.
Be flexible and responsive to learner needs using varied instructional methods.
Plan and deliver content and learning activities that reflect the values, beliefs, needs, and contributions of a culturally diverse community.
Provide appropriate evaluation, assessment, and feedback to students.
Be responsive to accommodation of special learning needs, including equity groups and diverse learners.
Where required, develop working relationships with appropriate external partners and employers, supporting students in working experience.
Pursue professional development opportunities to keep current with employer and educational requirements.
Mentor students related to educational opportunities, industry expectations, and career goals.
Work cooperatively in an interdependent team environment.
Attend program and school meetings.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)

Grade 12 or equivalent.
Interprovincial Journeyperson Certificate in the Sheet Metal trade.
Two years' recent/relevant postjourneyperson experience as a Sheet Metal Worker.
Effective instructional ability.
Effective interpersonal skills.
Effective communication skills.
Ability to function as a team member in an everchanging environment.
Demonstrates valuing diversity.
