Report to:

The Support Services Worker will be an employee of Northwest London Resource Centre (NWLRC). Day-to-Day supervision/consultation will be provided by the Supervisor of Support Services.

Supervision will be provided in the form of formal supervision meetings as well as informal support as requested by the Supervisor.


Qualifications:


Social Service Worker Diploma, Social Work Degree, related fields of expertise or extensive experience of over 3 years actively supporting low-income residents.


Hours:

Position is a full-time position and will run from Tuesday to Saturday. Some evenings when required.


Hours per Week:

37.5 hrs./ week


Wages:

$24 per hour with benefits after 3-month probation period.


Position overview:


The assistant will support the successful delivery of the CORE services "Neighbourhood Support Services" in relation to Basic Needs, Meal Programs, Community Advocacy & Information and Referral.

In addition, to lead volunteer experiences for local residents including those living in poverty.

General Support Services Programming

  • Support the management of Support Services (Food Bank, dental Clinic, London Good Food Box, Community Pop UP Market, food collation supplies and mobile food bank)
  • Support the management of Meal Programs (summer Breakfast Club, Northwest Eats-Saturday Youth Meal program)Primarily data collection and support the meal programs

Qualifications:


  • Leadership, strong organizational, and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communication skills
  • Capacity to build relationships with, community members, and Professionals
  • Proven ability to work with diverse and ethnic/cultural backgrounds
  • Motivated, selfstarter and able to work in a fastpaced environment
  • Capacity to work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Clearance through a Vulnerable populations police screening process
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Responsible, trustworthy, approachable and friendly
  • Ability to work with a diverse population

Salary:
$24.00 per hour
