Academy of Modern Art (AOMA) is a reputable Vancouver-based after-school art education institution dedicated to transitioning art and design students to their post-secondary school of choice and strongly supports students' personal development.

- Positively impact the community by creating a welcoming environment for students and families
- Motivate and inspire students to learn by creating an engaging, positive, and productive learning environment while establishing a high level of confidence
- Develop and arrange portfolio preparation students' learning plans: including updated course outlines, content, lesson plans, and instructional materials
- Provide instruction, mentoring, and individual guidance to students both entrylevel and advanced
- Deliver instruction and course materials both online and facetoface as needed
- Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently and write student review summaries
- Engage students in their learning, motivating them with enthusiastic and imaginative presentations and projects
- Provide individual guidance to students and take accurate attendance
- Help students achieve specific learning objectives and improve skills
- Support the administrative functions of the school to enhance the student and parent experience
- Follow the policies, regulations and procedures of AOMA
What you will bring:
- A Bachelor's degree or above from a recognized university in Fine Arts / Illustration program
- Experienced in and have an updated knowledge of the requirements of the Fine Arts / Illustration major in North American universities
- Experienced as a working professional or freelance artist
- Minimum 3 years experience teaching art courses, especially painting, to kids and youth
- Enthusiastic and positive attitude, always encourage and inspire students to create finished artworks;
- Excellent communication, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
- Available to work flexible hours
- Available to assist with school art exhibitions or other extracurricular art activities as needed
- Previous teaching experience is a definite asset;
- Ability to effectively communicate professionally with students
- Selfmotivated yet customerfocused
Job Types:
Part-time, Fixed term contract
