What you will be responsible for:

  • Positively impact the community by creating a welcoming environment for students and families
  • Motivate and inspire students to learn by creating an engaging, positive, and productive learning environment while establishing a high level of confidence
  • Develop and arrange portfolio preparation students' learning plans: including updated course outlines, content, lesson plans, and instructional materials
  • Provide instruction, mentoring, and individual guidance to students both entrylevel and advanced
  • Deliver instruction and course materials both online and facetoface as needed
  • Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently and write student review summaries
  • Engage students in their learning, motivating them with enthusiastic and imaginative presentations and projects
  • Provide individual guidance to students and take accurate attendance
  • Help students achieve specific learning objectives and improve skills
  • Support the administrative functions of the school to enhance the student and parent experience
  • Follow the policies, regulations and procedures of AOMA

What you will bring:


  • A Bachelor's degree or above from a recognized university in Fine Arts / Illustration program
  • Experienced in and have an updated knowledge of the requirements of the Fine Arts / Illustration major in North American universities
  • Experienced as a working professional or freelance artist
  • Minimum 3 years experience teaching art courses, especially painting, to kids and youth
  • Enthusiastic and positive attitude, always encourage and inspire students to create finished artworks;
  • Excellent communication, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
  • Available to work flexible hours
  • Available to assist with school art exhibitions or other extracurricular art activities as needed
  • Previous teaching experience is a definite asset;
  • Ability to effectively communicate professionally with students
  • Selfmotivated yet customerfocused

Part-time, Fixed term contract
