Intermediate Reliability Specialist

Our Hamilton office is looking for a Reliability Specialist to support our client's maintenance and reliability journeys. The Reliability Specialist provides technical assistance and support to GM BluePlan's Reliability Availability Maintainability (RAM) team.

This position requires an engaged individual who is looking for an opportunity to build, contribute and advance the maintenance and reliability journeys of our clients.

This position is responsible to perform tasks such as criticality analysis, asset strategy development, reliability analysis, maintenance improvement projects and business process mapping.

The role will also be involved with the continual improvement of standards and specifications for the GM BluePlan RAM group and our clients.


Responsibilities:


  • Work as a team member to design, develop, and implement maintenance and reliability programs, projects, and initiatives for our clients.
  • Asset Hierarchy: Build functional asset hierarchies
  • Asset Criticality: Support asset criticality analysis
  • Asset Strategy Development: Develop optimized proactive tasks to manage failure modes
  • Provide input to other asset management projects like risk management, criticality analysis and typical maintenance practices.
  • Assess data history to identify reliability improvement opportunities: identify root causes of failures or recommend alternative approaches to maintenance practices.
  • Support the sustainment and further development of services related to predictive maintenance
  • Installing / configuring conditionbased monitoring equipment
  • Conduct maintenance and reliability maturity assessments
  • Conduct data analysis and optimization of proactive maintenance programs
  • Conduct analysis and optimization of spare parts; rationalizing spare parts recommended for new design projects, and existing asset portfolios
  • Participate in the review of designs to ensure maintainability and reliability are adequately incorporated
  • Participate in continuing to develop the GMBP RAM internal processes and policies, including skill transfer, with a focus on delivering sustainable results
  • Analyzing costs and provide recommendations to optimize maintenance.
  • Analyze and provide recommendations for effective use of CMMS systems.
  • Support the documentation and development of current and futurestate maintenance and reliability processes

Required Experience and Q
ualifications:


  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical), a trade ticket, or relevant experience in a maintenance planning and scheduling role
  • Field experience in a maintenance, planning, scheduling, or reliability role would be an asset
  • Knowledge or experience in industries such as water treatment, wastewater treatment, or chemical processing would be an asset.
  • Experience or knowledge of conditionbased or predictive maintenance technologies such as vibration, ultrasonic, or infrared would be an asset
  • Experience with Root Cause Failure Analysis and Reliability Centered Maintenance
  • Extensive experience using a CMMS system
  • Demonstrate initiative, integrity, problemsolving and project management skills, and selfmotivation.
  • Ability to work in a multidiscipline team and crossfunctionally with technical personnel
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A resultsfocused, critical thinking, and detailoriented individual with proven problemsolving skills.
