The Administrative Coordinator reports directly to the Executive Director, Provincial Surgery Operations and provides high level and comprehensive administrative and project support to both the Executive Director, Provincial Surgery Operations and the Executive Director, Provincial Capacity - Clinical Operations, and their related projects.

Required Qualifications:


A minimum of a high school completion with diploma in business administration is preferred plus five years progressively responsible related experience is required.

A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development.

As support for the Executive Director, Provincial Surgery Operations and the Executive Director, Provincial Capacity - Clinical Operations, the Administrative Coordinator will have the ability to effectively gather and organize information for presentation at multiple committees.

The incumbent will have strong writing and editing skills to edit or prepare documents for senior level reports, briefing notes, speeches, presentations, and other correspondence as required.


Additional Required Qualifications:


In addition, the incumbent will possess a working knowledge and record of accomplishment in the following areas: Alberta Health Services systems and processes and applicable provincial legislation, policies, and processes.

General office policies and procedures including, but not limited to, financial and travel policies, electronic communication requests systems, Freedom of Information and Privacy (FOIP) and human resources.

Experience in resource management including recruitment, performance reporting, and budgetary accountability.

Office software databases (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint are essential) in order to respond to action requests, and to prepare and edit correspondence, and respond to stakeholder inquiries.

Other required skills include proficiency with e-People, SharePoint, MarkView, and iExpense. Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within a large, diverse organization.

Ability to foster a climate of collaboration and cooperation amongst, and builds solid relationships with public agencies, government, boards, committees, and other stakeholders/partners.

Ability to work independently with guidance in only the most complex situations. Ability to lead change and create innovation solutions for complex and diverse issues. Ability to manage resources in a changing and multifaceted environment with diverse, complex, and sensitive issues.


Preferred Qualifications:

A combination of education, skills and experience may be considered.
