Job summary:

Reporting to the Systems Support Manager, the Systems Support Technician (SST): iPad Management manages and supports the River East Transcona School Division's Apple iPad devices.

This position entails imaging/setting up iPads, maintaining the Mobile Device Management (MDM) server, and supporting staff and student iPad deployments.

The SST will also be assigned various tasks that are specific to their strengths such as, but not limited to:


Duties:


  • Prepare and asset tag iPads and Apple TVs and setup and maintain Apple TVs
  • Enroll and ensure devices are assigned an MDM license on the MDM server
  • Ensure iPads are assigned in Device Enrollment Program (DEP) via Apple School Manager
  • Administer and assign software app licenses on MDM server
  • Assign devices to the required groups
  • Develop and support the image deployment process for all Apple devices
  • Ensure staff and students are registered in Apple School Manager
  • Distribute apps to all Apple devices as required
  • Manage updates and patches to Apple iOS devices and liaison with Apple and MDM provider for support and updates
  • Test app updates to ensure compatibility with iOS updates, followup with developer(s) as required
  • Create MDM reports for Systems Support Manager
  • Work with the Systems Support Manager to plan major iOS operating system upgrades
  • Ensure iOS upgrades are installed on devices as required
  • Update, monitor, maintain MDM server; diagnose and correct performance problems
  • Review policies to ensure iPads are running optimally from a security and performance perspective
  • Stay informed of changes, enhancements and security updates to the MDM and iOS
  • Ensure assigned IT tickets are resolved in a timely and professional manner
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:


  • Education and experience: o Diploma in Computer Technology (preferred) o Experience managing devices with an MDM service o Experience working in an Apple environment o Two to five years of demonstrated Apple and MDM development
  • Knowledge and skills: o Strong knowledge and experience supporting iPads in the workplace for multiple users o Strong knowledge and experience setting up and configuring networked iPads and Apple TVs o Knowledge of Apple operating systems and MDM solutions such as Microsoft Intune o Knowledge of Apple hardware and specifications o Strong desire to stay informed of new initiatives
  • Communication and interpersonal skills: o Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate in a professional manner o Ability to respond and positively interact with coworkers, administrative staff and vendors
  • Strong interpersonal and team working skills o Demonstrated professionalism and respect for privacy in dealing with sensitive and confidential employee and student information
  • Organization and time management: o Demonstrated organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a highvolume environment and to meet set tasks within timelines o Strong problemsolving skills o High degree of initiative

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:


  • A valid MB driver's license and reliable transportation are required
  • Ability to climb a ladder is required

Salary:
$62,970.00-$73,844.00 per year
