ABOUT THE ROLE

JOB DESCRIPTION
The college instructor teaches in discipline areas in which they have specific training and competence.

As such, the instructor is expected to plan, organize, and teach in a manner that aligns with the values of Anderson College.


The instructor will be leading the classes at the Anderson College-North York Campus.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:


Academic

  • Delivering the approved curriculum for the course being taught, ensuring the teaching is according to the curriculum approved by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities.
  • Adhere to the provided class schedule, ensuring that each required module duration is not exceeded.
  • Monitor each student's attendance and progress.
  • Develop curriculum supplements as required to enhance learning and retention, while ensuring that Ministryapproved material is followed closely.
  • Assist in securing placement sites for students.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Administrative

  • Assist with tracking student hours per college procedures
  • Attend graduation ceremonies
  • Implement and follow the policies and procedures established by the college
  • Participate in meetings with staff when required
  • Participate in student orientations
  • Maintain proper records of student meetings
  • Submit monthly reports to the Program Coordinator in accordance with Accreditation standards

REQUIRED SKILLS:


  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development and current knowledge of industry developments and best practices.
  • Professional demeanor.
  • Willingness to work cooperatively with students and other members of staff.
  • Comfortable in either facetoface or virtual presentations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:


  • Must be registered with their professional college
  • OTs must be registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
  • PTs must be College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
  • At least 2 years of related OT and/or PT experience.
  • Experience teaching in the private or public college industry is preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Position Location: North York, Ontario (5734 Yonge Street, Suite 100, Toronto, Ontario M2M 4E7)
  • Work environment
    :Inclassroom setting and labs:
  • Hours of work: Part time, Evening Shift 6 pm
  • 10:00 pm
  • Schedule of work: Monday to Friday
