    Job Description Summary

    The Senior Program Manager, Commissioning & Startup for the BWRX-300 will be responsible for supporting the BWRX-300 Operations Leader in coordinating and overseeing the successful execution of the BWRX-300 Commissioning and Startup program. In this role, the Senior Program Manager, Commissioning & Startup will bridge across the coalition that is Engineering, Construction and Licensee; and manage the cross functional efforts required to ensure the successful launch of the BWRX-300 Commissioning & Startup Program.

    The Commissioning & Startup Program is complex, somewhat undefined for BWRX-300, with various stakeholders and partners. The Program includes turnover from construction, component testing, system/preoperational testing, and startup testing. The role depends on the deep understanding of Commissioning & Startup, plant operations and maintenance. Cross-functional leadership skills are required to drive vital focus and accountability for the things that matter most to the BWRX-300 Commissioning & Startup program success. This position will report into the GEH BWRX-300 Operations Leader, and work across the direct and indirect teams that are contributing to the BWRX-300.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    As the Senior Program Manager, Commissioning & Startup Leader for the BWRX-300, you will support the BWRX-300 Operations Leader in executing the following:

    • The Commissioning & Startup Program includes turnover from construction, system flushing, component testing, system/preoperational testing, and startup testing.
    • Development of Commissioning Program to include administrative manual/procedures, component testing, preoperational/system testing and startup procedures.
    • Manage cross-functional program execution, including commissioning and startup development strategy, programs, and procedures, to launch a successful program.
    • Serve as the interface for GEH with construction and licensee for commissioning and startup program.
    • Develop best practices/lessons learned matrix/processes for commissioning and startup development.
    • Advise on commissioning and startup program and schedule.
    • Develop risk assessment for commissioning and startup program.
    • Establish consistent practices across the X-300 program in the following areas:
      • Commissioning Program/Procedure Structure
      • Commissioning Project controls/scheduling
      • Commissioning Project reporting/communication
      • Customer interface
      • Stakeholder alignment
      • Functional support integration
      • Issue Resolution/Problem solving process.
      • Project decision making

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent work experience specifically in commissioning/startup of new nuclear plants.
    • At least 10 years of significant relevant experience in commissioning and startup.
    • At least 10 years of experience in nuclear programs or operations, including 5 years in new plant commissioning/startup.
    • Able & willing to travel ~30%

    Desired Characteristics

    • Senior Reactor Operator License is strongly desired.
    • Proven ability to work collaboratively horizontally across a business including listening and problem-solving around complex strategies and projects.
    • Strategic thinker with the ability to balance thought leadership, continuous learning, and improvement with demonstrated results.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of an overall program vision and ability to align resources, processes, and outcomes to that vision.
    • Able to leverage lean thinking, culture and tools into strategy development and problem solving.
    • Strong technical and analytical aptitude to understand and articulate complicated tradeoffs.
    • Ability to articulate information effectively and concisely, both written and verbal, to team members, senior management, and customers
    • Skilled communicator capable of listening to multiple perspectives and incorporating into a balanced approach that optimizes the outcome.
    • Skilled in understanding of plant component and system operation, use of plant documents and drawings to support commissioning and startup program.
