Quality Assurance Co-op - Gladstone Plant
This is a 4 month Co-op internship from Mayto Sept 24', with regular full-time hours from Monday to Friday. The role requires to be onsite at the Gladstone site on all working days.

This role will be based out of the Cadbury Chocolate Manufacturing Plant located at Gladstone, Toronto, Ontario. We manufacture all local gems of the Cadbury brand including Dairy Milk, Caramilk, Crème Egg, Mini Eggs, Mr. Big and many more


The purpose of the Intern program is to introduce you to Mondelez and the Quality Assurance functions by rotating through multiple functions within the department.

This is a unique and rewarding internship experience, which offers you the opportunity to manage projects and build your knowledge in Quality Assurance, Food Safety, Sanitation in a large global food manufacturing industry.

You'll receive mentorship and guidance by the Quality, Compliance, Sanitation managers during the internship.


Position Summary/Objective:


Reporting to the QA Manager, this role is a rotational program through multiple functions in the department to provide exposure to the department's processes.

You will be responsible for supporting the quality department by optimizing current quality processes through digitizing, data reporting and analytical practices.


What you'll
do
-
Primary:Perform product testing and sample submissions to the lab. Support in managing analytical lab equipment by doing routine maintenance and verification activities.

  • Shadow and support production quality specialist on tasks related to monitoring production quality parameters on the shop floor, Product testing, conducting GMP inspections and Postcleaning inspections.
  • Shadow Quality and Sanitation supervisors to gain exposure to their functions in general quality management, holds management, sanitation programs and Environmental monitoring programs. Participate in Root cause and CAPA planning activities. Support in tasks as assigned by supervisors.
  • Opportunity to shadow Quality manager, Compliance manager, Sanitation Manager to gain exposure to their functions in managing departments, consulting activities, planning activities, auditing, and shopfloor inspections.
  • Conduct process improvement projects to streamline processes within the department. Conduct other tasks and projects as assigned by the department managers and supervisors.

Qualifications:


  • Enrolled in a college or university science program in a related food, chemical, biological, bior omedical field.
  • Solid computer skills with intermediate level in Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint and Outlook/ Experience in Excel with macros, addons, and developing dashboards is considered an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), ability to convey complex information to a nonexpert audience
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills, selfstarter with a high level of initiative and adaptability. TEAM player with a positive attitude.

Work schedule:
Monday to Friday (Standard business hours)
