Position Summary:


The role of a Finance Assistant is to support financial operations within an operating unit by managing and processing various financial transactions, including invoices, expenses, and donations.

They ensure accurate data entry, compliance with financial policies and procedures, and timely communication with internal stakeholders.

The Finance Assistant plays a crucial role in maintaining financial records, supporting budgeting, and reporting activities, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the finance function.


Key Responsibilities:

- **Invoice and Expense Processing**: responsible for efficiently processing invoices and expenses, ensuring accurate coding, proper documentation, and adherence to payment schedules. They verify and record expenses, reconcile accounts, and maintain records for audit purposes.

Funding Management and Deposits:handles the processing of funding received by the operating unit, including grants, donations, and other sources of income. They ensure timely and accurate recording of funds, prepare deposits, and maintain tracking systems to monitor revenue streams.

Operating Unit Tracking Systems:maintains operating unit specific tracking systems to monitor various expenses and revenues specific to the operating units. They update and reconcile financial data, generate reports, and provide insights for decision-making and financial analysis.

Finance Training and Support:The finance assistant plays a role in training new staff members in finance systems and procedures. They provide guidance and support in navigating finance-related processes, ensuring that all staff members within the operating unit understand and adhere to financial policies and protocols.

Audit Support and Information Gathering:Assists with gathering relevant information and documents required for audits and staff enquiries related to revenue and expenses. They ensure that financial records and supporting documentation are readily available, accurate, and well-organized.

  • Additional tasks as requested by the Controller.

Qualifications (Minimum Requirements):


  • Education: High School
  • 12 years of experience
  • Communication and computer skills
