Role Description:

The Finance Manager reports to the Executive Operations Officer. The Finance Manager is responsible for managing, controlling, planning, and organizing finance and accounting processes at ICHA.

Primary duties include organizing and planning financial audits, overseeing financial reporting, supervising bookkeeping, creating and implementing end-to-end finance and accounting-related procedures and policies, and overseeing their implementation.


Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting policies and processes, while maintaining appropriate accounting internal controls for all activities.
  • Develop and implement a workplan for all accounting, finance, and auditing work at ICHA.
  • Establish and oversee budgets across all departments.
  • Oversee and ensure accuracy of all bookkeeping activity including entering financial information into the general ledger, update records and forecast spending, track income and expenses.
  • Oversee all operational and program/project financial budgeting, reforecasting and reporting processes including preparation of content for Board of Directors.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting & Finance Consultant to execute payroll cycles on Ceridian Dayforce.
  • Oversee all compensation, benefits, payroll and pension budgeting and reforecasting activities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate accounts payable and receivable.
  • Evaluate and continuously improve internal reporting systems, while reporting all financial discrepancies or report findings to the Executive Operations Officer.
  • Create and execute a plan to improve the management of financial statements and audit documentation.
  • Build and lead a Finance team while ensuring employees are empowered and constantly growing.
  • Perform other financerelated tasks as required by the Executive Operations Officer.

Qualifications:


  • A university degree and a minimum of six to ten years professional experience in Finance/Accounting roles, with strong working knowledge of accounting concepts, techniques and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
  • Experience in health care is an asset.
  • Experience with Cerdian Dayforce is a strong asset.
  • High level of ethics, personal integrity and confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational skills with high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Superb computer skills with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and various accounting software systems (e.g. Quickbooks desktop).
  • Excellent analytical and investigative stills to analyze and interpret records/data in order to identify trends, project financial outcomes, etc.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to effectively brief Executive leadership and the Board.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment and manage competing deadlines and periods of intense activity.
  • Selfdirected with an ability to organize, plan, and prioritize.
  • Ability to work in a smalltomedium sized organization as part of a committed team with fluidity in roles and responsibilities.
