    Job Profile: Mammographer Technologist

    Reports to: Modality General Manager

    Direct Reports: N/A

    Hours: 1.0FTE, Permanent Full-Time, 37.5 hours/week

    Location: Rotating position – various clinic locations

    Position Start Date: April 2024

    Position Summary

    You will be an integral part of our journeys, ensuring that we can continue to provide reliable, accurate and compassionate services to our patients, referring physicians and our employees.

    You will be working as part of a team that prides itself on providing precise high quality radiological examinations. You will be expected to work with minimal supervision and direction, which means you will need to be a self-starter and confident in your imaging. We expect you to deliver safe and efficient breast imaging services while minimizing patient discomfort to the best of your ability.

    Major Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Prepares, performs, reports and records a variety of standardized and/or complex procedures, with attention to the welfare and comfort of the patient.
  • Reports any recognized unusual or abnormal findings to the Radiologist
  • Responsible for the operation and basic maintenance of all digital equipment. Report any findings to immediate supervisor.
  • DI equipment: technologists must have a working knowledge of equipment to ensure that the units are functioning correctly.
  • Responsible for safety measures and the general care and cleanliness of the radiographic area.
  • Knowledge of computer system and all DI office duties.
  • Instructs patients on various examinations as requested.
  • Able to assist in the instruction of new staff members and students.
  • Maintains quality control in the performance of all procedures.
  • Willing to assist a Radiologist or fellow staff member as required.
  • Notify supervisor of any equipment or supply problems.
  • Must maintain the utmost in professional confidence of patient information and/or results.
  • Performs other duties as required.

  • Clinical competency in medical radiography.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of diagnostic imaging procedures and practices.
  • Knowledge of technical parameters for breast imaging.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Provide team support as required.
  • Organize and prioritize assigned work to accommodate work demands.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Motivated and self-directed.
  • Report to work on time, dependable and cooperative.
  • Qualifications

  • MRT(R) Designation in good standing CAMRT/ACMDTT.
  • Mammography experience an asset.
  • CPR Standard First aid certificate is an asset.
