Job Description:

Position Overview


As an Associate, Communities, Stakeholders, and First Nations Relations, you will support and assist the development of utility-scale wind, solar, and storage energy projects in Québec and other provinces.

Your role will be to build a strong and trustful relationship between the company and the communities in which our projects are located, including First Nations.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead local outreach and act as relationship lead with First Nations and municipal officials, chambers and Economic Development Organizations where Invenergy has a development presence in Québec and in Atlantic Canada provinces.
  • Represent the Project and/or Invenergy in meetings with First Nations and municipal officials, landowners, and other stakeholders and in public meetings hosted by the project.
  • Understand and explain benefits of projects to host community members.
  • Collaborate to development and implementation of a structured community relations program across Québec and Atlantic Canada to support Invenergy's planned developments and operating projects
  • The goal of the community relations program will be to build awareness of and position Invenergy as a good corporate citizen both in local project communities and with NGOs in the energy industry, economic development, nonprofit and other realms.

Requirements:


  • Extensive experience with local political and stakeholder engagement in Québec and/or Atlantic Canada.
  • 5+ years' work experience in local economic or real estate project development on linear infrastructure projects, and/or in the renewable and clean energy industry.
  • Strong organizational, networking, leadership, and time management skills.
  • Ability to write effective, concise reports.
  • Familiarity with energy project development, real estate development, transmission and power project engineering are advantageous.
  • English language mastery is required for this role due to the regular communication with English speakers externally.
