Safety Professionals to join our team.
The Safety Advisor, under the direction of an internal Project Manager, or customer representative will primarily be responsible for facilitating the development, implementation, and maintenance of Occupational Health and Safety policies and programs.
This position works closely with all levels of employees to ensure consistent promotion and utilization of safe work practices.The Safety Advisor must advise on safety standards, regulations, and legislative compliance and make recommendations to improve the health, safety, and wellbeing of our employees and clients.
Job Duties:
- Facilitate and contribute to the development, implementation, communication, and maintenance of all Workplace Health and Safety policies and programs.
- Participate in the identification, evaluation, control, and management of hazards and risk mitigation strategies.
- Advise with consistent promotion and utilization of safe work practices.
- Advise on safety standards, regulations, and legislation.
- Update, maintain and deliver safety orientation, ongoing training, and awareness programs for all employees.
- Participate in the investigation of workers' concerns and complaints with respect to Health and Safety issues while maintaining the employee's right to confidentiality.
- Lead and or participate in incident investigations and develop recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
- Contribute to emergency planning initiatives.
- Maintain and update health and safety records and reports.
- Liaise with management and outside regulatory agencies, as required.
- Supervise the installation of safety features/equipment, where required.
Requirements:
- Demonstrate leadership in all aspects of the job.
- Must have strong written, communication and organizational skills.
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Willing to travel.
- The ability to work in a fastpaced environment with solid organizational and time management skills.
- The ability to work well with a wide variety of people including office and field staff, diverse cultures, and various work experience levels
- Ability to pass Drug and Alcohol testing.
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO)
- Certificate or Degree in Occupational Health and Safety
- 3 years experience in field industrial construction or related projects
- Experience with field Health and Safety Leadership in multistakeholder and multidiscipline environments
- Clean Class 5 Driver's License
- Standard First Aid with CPR/AED Level A or C
- Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
- H2S Alive
- Job-Specific Requirements considered assets (ATV Training, Fall Protection Training, Confined Space Training, ect.)

- Field Industrial Construction or related projects: 3 years (preferred)
- Field Health and

- Standard First Aid CPR / AED Level A or C (preferred)
- Class 5 Licence (preferred)
