Position Title:
Summer Student - Health & Safety, Environment (4 Month Term)

Team and Location:
Health & Safety - Calgary, AB

Position Summary:

The Health & Safety, Environment Summer Student is responsible for providing exceptional support to our Health and Safety team of Parkland for the 4-month term.

As a member of the Health & Safety team, you will be assisting with the day-to-day activities that include reviewing and updating HSE documents, emergency response plans and safety data sheet binders.

The student will also be responsible for maintaining the SharePoint site. The student will provide overall support to the Health & Safety team for special projects as assigned.


Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting HSE Advisors with HSE documents that include emergency response plan updates and filing them onto SharePoint.
• Maintaining the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) binders.
• Assisting the Manager, HSE with various tasks including occurrence classification and data integrity.

Qualifications and Skills:

• You are available for a 4month term beginning on or around May 202
• You are currently enrolled at a Canadian postsecondary institution working towards a Bachelor in Environment Health & Safety, Sciences or a related discipline, you have completed your 1st year of your program, with a good standing GPA of 2.9 or above.
• You have exceptional interpersonal skills and possess natural leadership as demonstrated in academic and/or extracurricular activities.
• You have highly developed verbal and written communication skills to enable you to thrive in a challenging and exciting work environment
• You have tenacity and an entrepreneurial spirit and are passionate about seeking out winwin solutions.
• You have strong MS Office skills including Word, Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
• You will be part of a global team and must be able to work effectively through a high degree of collaboration and communication through inperson meetings and video conferences.
